Tucked among the tall pines and surrounded by the swamp land of Lake Jackson , these ancient pre historic mounds are the final resting place of tribal Indians .......and the not so resting place of one! This site goes back to 1000 A.D. - 1450 A.D . The remains of tribal members and a rich array of burial objects have been found and unearthed at this site. It is reported that during an excavation an important tribe members remains were sent to the University of Florida in Gainesville for examination ......no one is sure or admitting what actually happen but when the remains were returned to the Mounds for reburial......the remains were missing it's head! A strange light , a tall shadow that often appears in the dark, and unexplained sounds are often heard coming from the Mounds........Could it be a some what confused ancient Indian looking for his head?
