This historical lighthouse was built in 1830. From Indian attacks during the Indian War to Union Army attacks during the Civil War and numerous hurricanes it still stands. A succession of keepers tended the lighthouse with the second one, Benjamin Metcalf, having died at the lighthouse during his tenure. Unexplained footsteps, the disembodied voice of a man and unexplained lights have been seen and heard through the years. Is it a keeper still on the job?
