Observations and Conclusions:
Big Bend Ghost Trackers arrived at the majestic 1890 Opera House as the sun was hiding behind the crimson sky and the moon was peaking out from the clouds. Once inside and after around of introductions were made the task of unloading and setting up equipment was at hand. John Henry Perkins has long been known to have returned in the afterlife to his opera house. We thought it was time to revisit him. Fran Hunt local reporter for the Monticello News joined Big Bend Ghost Trackers for the evening’s investigation. After setting up equipment and running camera and monitor cables the nights investigation began. Ms. Hunt assisted the Ghost Trackers in taking baseline data noting temperature changes in the grand auditorium and stage areas. EMF reading of 7. A series of photos were taken capturing orbs and ectoplasm. Often in investigations in century old homes or buildings BBGT will bring music from the era of the building. We have found that era music appears to perhaps strike a familiar cord with long deceased occupants and this night was NO EXCEPTION! In the nights darkness with cameras rolling BBGT and Ms. Hunt had an experience that only few ghost hunters/researchers/investigators ever encounter. From time to time Opera House staff have reported hearing the sound of piano music coming from the old piano on the stage. WE were given the opportunity for several seconds to also have this experience…with us only feet away from the piano. This set the“stage” for an awesome night. At first it was an orb here and one there showing on the monitor …the more we talked to Mr. Perkins the more he appeared to enjoy our company. With era music playing BBGT Valynda suggested the idea of perhaps Mr.Perkinsmight like to dance. Lisa already on stage decided to waltz inviting Mr. Perkins to join her. JOIN HER HE DID! It was a totally incredible experience and we were all in awe as we watched on the monitor screen as a brilliant energy filled orb danced around and around Lisa in her arms, outside her arms, above her hand then twirling around and around. This brilliant light would leave briefly and upon command from BBGT it would return. At times it would split and be two other times it would shoot down and across like a lighting bolt. With video cameras rolling and capturing every second of this event on film Mr. Perkins and Lisa continued to dance. After a while it was time for Mr. Perkins to change dance partners. With Lacey awaiting in the wings once again we found Mr. Perkins to be eager to dance. As the hour grew late we called our investigation to and end .We all walked away with a sense that we were given the opportunity to share in a magnificent event and to this WE will never quiet be the same.
Conclusion: We concur once again The Opera House definitely is experiencing paranormal activity.
