Observations and Conclusions:
One can peak inside the old 1912 store and be transported back to another place and time. In your minds eye you can see flannel shirted
men gathered around an old wood heater playing a friendly game of checkers.
The aroma of a long ago pickle barrel fills the air. One can imagine
walls of farm implements and bolts of calico. If you look carefully
you might even see a counter with hoop cheese and crackers.
Big Bend Ghost Trackers were contacted by a member of the Lloyd
Preservation Society which is involved in renovating the old store. A society member was taking a series of before and after pictures in
the day time with a 35mm camera when the member noticed in two
of the pictures anomalies. Big Bend Ghost Trackers were invited to “check out” the old store.
Check out is what we did! We were not disappointed. Based upon a series of photos, drops in temperature and the general feeling that we were being watched; we have concluded that perhaps a long ago store keeper is still “minding” his store.
