BigBend Ghost Trackers Field Investigation

On 21 June 2003, Big Bend Ghost Trackers traveled to Panama City, Florida, at the invitation of Mr. Lawrence Gordon, well-known author of books on the paranormal, including "Ghost Chronicles". Mr. Gordon has also written several other books including one that details the haunting of his charming home in Panama City. Mr. Gordon has also appeared for numerous interviews including the Art Bell Show.

Ghost Trackers, Betty, Valynda, Jim and Chris arrived at the residence, a charming split-level home, built in the early 1950's and tucked away on a quiet street on a beautiful Spanish moss laden bayou, at approximately 6:20pm CST, and were graciously welcomed by Mr. Gordon and his lovely wife, Julie.

After introductions all around, and some very interesting facts and experiences from the Gordons on events that had taken place in and around the home, we set up our equipment and began what proved to be a very interesting and fruitful investigation. Jim took baseline temperature and EMF readings inside the house and out, making note of power lines, appliances and other items which could possibly have a bearing on creating a "false alarm", while Betty, Valynda, and Chris were shown the "hot spots" of the home where most of the previous activity had occurred. Infrared video cameras were set up strategically throughout the house to capture any activity that may occur while simultaneously providing an audio record of any phenomena. Chris, Jim and Valynda then began taking random photographs.

Betty, while in a deep alpha state, made contact with the spirit of a young man named Roger. Roger seemed very sad and could not seem to leave and continue his spiritual journey. This information was validated by the fact that a young man either in his late teens or early twenties was murdered on the property in the late 1930's and has been researched and documented by Mr. Gordon himself in his research projects. This contact occurred in the downstairs office/work area of Mrs. Gordon’s, known to be one of the "hot spots" of the home. While passing through the laundry room area, which leads to the office area, Jim simultaneously received the words "Stewart " or "Stuart" and the date 1938. Valynda, while outside in the rear area of the house experienced a voice loudly calling either Jolene or Julie...another phenomena that was validated by Mrs. Gordon, who has often heard that same voice calling her name. Betty and Chris both sensed the presence of a small girl of 8-10 years old with curly blonde hair whom we later learned from the Gordon has been sighted by both family members and guests at various times running into a small closet beneath the stairwell.

Several orbs were captured on digital cameras throughout the investigation, and although no unusual temperature or EMF readings were recorded, the spirits made their presence’s known through psychic contact to both the Gordon and the members of the investigation team.

Another particular item of interest was an amulet, which came to the surface when some work was being done on the dock behind the house. Using psychometry Jim felt the mask, had been worn by a female, possibly of African descent, and that it was either a symbol of tribal rank or protection as a widow. The Gordon told us that most everyone who has touched this item has come into a run of good luck so we all made it a point to hold the amulet.

We all agreed that the Gordon home is indeed haunted by several spirits in addition to some residual imprints due to the emotion charged history of the property which is known to be the site of several murders and untimely deaths, as evidenced by the spirit contact and the photographs taken during the investigation. One photograph in particular, toward the end of the evening, when everyone was asked to pose for a group photo showed the entire group and next to Mr. Gordon, the ever present Roger, whom we asked to make an appearance in the picture.
